Antioxidants are beneficial to our health and are abundant in Black, Green, White and Red teas. Oxidants are substances that destroy tissue within our body. Antioxidants are substances or nutrients in our foods which can prevent or slow the oxidative damage to our body. When our body’s cells use oxygen, they naturally produce oxidants (free radicals-by-products) which can cause damage. Antioxidants act as "free radical scavengers" and prevent and repair damage done by these free radicals. The most common antioxidants are vitamins A, C and E.

White Tea – light taste, highest in antioxidants, lowest in caffeine.
Green Tea – light taste, high in antioxidants, low in caffeine.
Black Tea – rich taste, high in antioxidants, semi-low caffeine content.
Herbal Tea – While herbal teas are probably the best option because they are caffeine free, most herbal teas do not contain antioxidants. There are caffeine free options available, however, such as Herbal African Rooibos Red Tea, which is derived from the African Red Bush, and naturally contains antioxidants.
