Water PH (Potential of Hydrogen)

Water with a pH less than 7 is considered acidic while water with a pH greater than 7 is considered neutral.

The pH in water tells us whether the water is hard or soft.  In general, water with a low pH (less than 6.5) could be acidic, soft, and corrosive. Therefore, the water could contain metal ions such as iron, manganese, copper, lead, and zinc...or, in other words, elevated levels of toxic metals.

Drinking water with a pH of 7 – 7.5 is better overall for the body. A lot of the foods we eat daily result in an acidic environment within the body.  Drinking water with a neutral pH regularly helps our body achieve and maintain proper pH.  In addition, drinking water flushes toxins from the body and helps keep skin hydrated.

To determine the pH level of water, water testing kits can be purchased online.  During testing, the water pH level is determined by adding drops of the testing kit solution to the water.

If the water being tested turns yellow, it is acidic.  If the water turns green it is less acidic than yellow water and water that turns blue in color is best and contains a pH of 7 – 7.5.
